This Sunday we made a trip to downtown Los Angeles to meet good friends, and one of them, my university friend Xue Mei, a health conscious and farmers market lover kind of gal, took us to the nearby Larchmont Farmers Market where she goes every Sunday. It was awesome!
The market is located in the charming Larchmont Village of Los Angeles. It is a lovely small place where you can find stalls brimming with fresh vegetables and fruits, fish and shellfish, flavored olive oils, ethic foods, breads, fresh herbs, potted herbs, trees, honey, flowers, candles crafts and jewelry. Something for everybody.
I was particularly enamored with the stall that sells mushrooms of all sorts. So many different varieties! Below are some pictures I was able to snap while filling my bags with goodies and chasing our excited kids. Hope you enjoy.

Purple figs waiting for fig hungry buyers

Bok choy and beet greens

Avocado - great for guacamole!

Rainbow of colors in the flowers section

Greens for salads

Prices dropped for seedless grapes

Yams

My latest passion - passion fruit.

This stand sells pomegranate juice, guess from where? From Azerbaijan!

From the pomegranate juice stall. Looks like the painting is upside down.

Fresh pomegranates! We sampled them - they are very sweet and not so juicy, yet, I bought a few as I cannot walk away from pomegranates so easily.

Pomegranates the beautiful

Tomatoes of different colors

Have you ever seen a watermelon shaped like this? First time for me.

Mushroom paradise for mushroom lovers. The prices bite a bit.

Chanterelles

King oyster mushrooms.

Portobello mushrooms - great to stuff!

Kids are happily posing in front of a fruit stall. As you can see from their faces, they enjoyed the trip. So did their mama (not pictured).

Farida, these pictures are amazing as well as your children. I live in Cape Cod, Massachusets. Every year the place that I work for is also attending in local Farmers Markets. Also Boston and Salem markets. Our products are mostly bakery products. Next year if you’re planning to be in the States please don’t resist to visit Cape Cod. And thanks for a great job with “AzCookBook”, you are our proud!
