Oh Farida! thank you so much for this recipe! I've been wanting to make qutab for sooo long - but couldn't find good recipes. I've learned cooking after moving to US, and now I can't stop exploring recipes online. Your website is wonderful and wish you good luck publishing your book. I will be one of the first buyers when it gets printed :-)

I'm from Baku as well, and live in CA :-)

I simply love your blog. You know we have the same non-stuffed preparation known as roomali (translates into handkercheif) roti's in India. Only here it is prepared by tossing rather than rolling and is part of the mughlai cuisine. I have always wondered if I can cook them over a gas stove. Have you tried it at home?? With the upside down wok? )

Balgabag gutabi is my favorite winter dish in Zaqatala! I think the food up here is all delicious, although I had a bit of trouble with surhullu. Thank you for this recipe!

These pictures are amazing. I miss eating Gutab. Gutab was the first food item I learned to make while in training in training during the Peace Corps.

I love eating Gutab as a midday snack or when I was a little hung over.

you're a good cook and I make so many compliments for your recipes. I knew something because my great-grandmother came from Ukraine, but did not know that far in Azerbaijan was all so delicious :-)
